• Why do we need resumes?

  • Do all jobs require a resume?

  • Why do some jobs ask for a resume and others do not?

  • What does a resume say about a person?

Andrew Braaksma works at a plastic factory during the summer. Andrews’s time is spent stamping, cutting, welding, moving or assembling parts. Andrew sees that the fear of losing their job haunts the factory workers along with little pay and long working hours. Andrew learned that education is truly important in order to earn a successful living and that taking education for granted is wrong. While speaking with a co-worker Andrew was told "Study hard and keep reading," This phrase simply sums up the article and the moral behind it all. By learning and furthering your education, the possibilities for your future are much brighter.

1. He works at a factory in his hometown during the summer.
2. In the factories Andrew is stamping, cutting, welding, moving or assembling parts.
3. Some of the problems are the long hours, job not stable, pain it does to the body and not safe.
4. Andrew learns that he is lucky to get an education and should take college seriously.
5. Andre says “These lessons I am learning, however valuable, are always tinged with a sense of guilt”. He learns that he should be happy he gets an education and use it to the best of his ability but he feels guilty because not everyone gets an education

1. He works at a car assembly line 12 hours a day.
2. He makes subassemblies
3. The working conditions aren’t too good, and the long work hours make it worse.
4. The lessons he is learning is valuable, his job pays well, but its hell on the body.
5. “Factory life has shown me what my future might have been like had I never gone to college in the first place.” (Braaks P6). This quote shows that college is very important, and I agree with it. My reaction was good, and this makes me want to go to college more.
